Anybody that believes this shit is an idiot. If this was true Sony would be making a huge fuss over it. And Rockstar would release a press release, the PSP version of GTA was known from the very beginning. Rockstar has stated they are going to see who has the larger install base before deciding where GTA goes. Keep dreaming folks.

I would be willing to bet that any future installments of Grand Theft Auto will come out on the Xbox 360 sometime after it releases on the Playstion 3 similar to the current generation.

Anyway, am I the only person who is getting tired of GTA? It seems like Rockstar keeps putting out the same game. For some, that's good. However I have been getting bored of running around causing havoc rather quickly, and the missions are getting rather repetitive.

Hopefully GTA4 offers something new to keep things fresh. Perhaps customization, a non-linear story, or some kind of multiplayer. I would also like to see something similar to the 'Gang Rep' system in Grand Theft Auto 2, with a bigger emphasis placed on it.

"Gamer", you obviously forgot about Hawkes' awesome defense of Rockstar (and the game industry in general) on NPR (I think... some radio station) a few months back. It only figures they would be nice to us :)

Like it or not folks, this is reality - I was talking on AIM with Hawkes while he was on the phone with the source, it's real and it's happening. They chose us for reasons I'm not allowed to talk about (It has to do with the hot coffee thing) but that's where we are right now.

Hehehe, it's funny that people don't believe it because it hasn't leaked to IGN or whatever yet. I knew about San Andreas a couple of months before IGN stopped swearing up and down that an inside source told them the next game was GTA: Sin City. And then another month still before it was oficially announced.

Oh, and for the record, the previous article said that technically the next game should be 6. Actually, it would be GTA8 if you want to get technical (or 9 if you count the PSP game), as there were two London extensions to the first game. The apparent rule is that they only increment the number when they switch engines...

So all this means is I have to wait eight months? I thought this was important news.

And to "hahahaha" No, I don't think Rockstar is stupid - I think Sony paid them ALOT of money for this deal, rockstar is smart because they get tons of cash up front for exclusivity and then they release it on the Xbox360 after the time is up and they make all that money again from the other side of the audience.

For the record, Rockstar stated that neither Vice City or San Andreas were GTA 4. They were extensions of GTA 3 that revolved around totally different characters and cities. The next game is GTA 4, the true successor to GTA 3.

There really arn't many "never ever ever on 360" 3rd party titles anymore. The source wouldn't give dates but he said that our estimate was very close to accurate. If you trace it back to our other article, Hawkes estimated it would be exclusive for 8 months then come out on 360

That's my guess as to what happens, but THAT is not confirmed. Only that it will be exclusive to the PS3 at least at first

First off, that's a good point - I never even thought about the disc constraints of the Xbox 360. For most games it won't matter because honestly current gen games typically use less than 4 gigs, and compression algorithms are getting better and better every month. But when the next GTA is developed exclusively for the PS3, they're not gonna bother compressing anything since they have so much room. Huh... We might actually see a difference in the games this time around

As to your comment about the GTA creator, I gotta disagree with you on that one, everything i've seen about CrackDown has made this one of my highly anticipated titles up with Gears of War. I like the idea of a persistent world where it's less about going from mission to mission and more about having one ultimate goal and finding your own way to get there. Crack Down is looking like an absolute must-own

Sorry, but I hardly would call it confirmed when "a source" (whoever it is) tells you something. It is still not official, until it is publicly announced by either Rockstar or Sony. Saying that, it is more than likely that it will be time exclusive, but if the game is good enough, I am prepared to wait for whatever version I want. Plenty of other games to keep me busy in the meantime.

Rockstar has signed a deal with Sony stating that all GTA games would be a Sony Console Exclusive. Rockstar are already creating the Next Generation GTA game. Rockstar are also making another PSP version. The next GTA will come to PSP, then Playstation 3 then the 360. And like others have said, if it was going to hit the 360 we would know already. they would have announced it.
