So, last week the site "Level My 360" showed up - We all laughed it off and assumed that it was just a publicity stunt... After all, NOBODY is that shallow... Right?
WRONG!
8bucks50 from The Forums pointed us in the direction of this listing on eBay
For SELL:
XBOX 360 HARD DISK DRIVE WITH ALL LIVE ARCADE INSIDE, GAMERTAG RANCE6 FIRST IN THE WORLD!!!!!
I am selling cause PS3 coming out.
MANYMANY SAVES INCLUDED IN HARD DRIVE (1GB MORE), 5000 HOURS SPENT ON THE GAMES.
TRY TO KEEP FIRST POSITION IN LEADERBOARD AND CONTINUE PLAY GAMES!
Thats right, the current #1 gamertag on Xbox Live is for sale on eBay... Currently available for a low low price of 6,000 dollars!!!
So yeah.... If you're insanely shallow, go bid it up - I want to see that selling for at LEAST 10 grand!
Oh, and I should probably mention that he attained the #1 spot through not-entirely legitimate means
Ugh, I don't even have anything witty to say about this.
three little words from 'Carlos Mencia' Andy..
DEE DEE DEE
I will be willing to bet that the guy will do the same thing with the PS3 - if it had a gamertag/score system... anyways, yeah, anybody willing to buy that will not only be low, but stupid. Something like that is definitely not worth $6000... or $10 k if Andy has his way.
"Oh, and I should probably mention that he attained the #1 spot through not-entirely legitimate means." How did he attain the #1 spot then?
Bert:
I was talking with Jason from mygamercard.net the other day, and he was telling me that there was alot of controvery around this guys GT (and others on the top 50 list) because they were using "360 Saves" to pump their gamerscore.
Basically, they were downloading saved games off the internet from people who were like 99% done with a game, loading the save, and in certain games (certain very hard games) when you load an advance save, the game assumes that you earned all the achievements before.
Thus you load the save, and get like 800 points off a game because it thinks you're already done
As far as I know Andy, the gamesaves thing doesn't work. I had a gamertag on my 360 before I had Live. Tried to transfer the saves from that one to my recovered Xbox Live gamertag. Transfered the saves, (Oblivion for example), but not the achievments. My Oblivion stats now say I am the Arch Mage but apparently never joined the Mages Guild.
This is just very messed up. To pay someone to take the credit for there work.
Hey I got a mcse certificate I could sell, or even better I can record my boss, telling me I'm doing a good job and then sell the recording on ebay.
I could also did out an old report card from 15 years ago if someone wants that as well.
The sad part is, Dante, that I think that is entirely possible. I could see someone buying all of the above.
hey if anyones intersted im willing to trade my dignity for a high definition telly ;)!
maybe a kidney.. slightly used :D!
$6000 for a lets face it $99.99 harddrive with suspect achievements THANK GOD FOR SUCKERS THATS ALL I GOTTA SAY
ALSO LOL!
wouldnt the live account be in the other guys name
how funny would it be if he cancelled his account year down the line
:D
This whole thing kinda smells.
... as in... there's something quite fishy about it.
Did you notice the seller?? He's in Italy. Now, I'm not entirely sure, but wouldn't you think if the HDD was from Italy it would be kind of important to include that little detail??
I think it's a hoax.
Yeah this is the stupidest auction ever... except for that "Runaway Bride image on piece of Toast" that went for a $1,000 a year or two ago...
Now the price is at 5,200 and it says "reserve not met". I don't think any of the bids, or the auction for that matter are at all legit. Probably just a crafty publicity stunt for no good reason.
Listing was taken down ha!
