Just a word of warning - the forums will be down later tonight tomorrow for some updates and security crap. Maybe even clean up some of the spam-bots. So, if you are in the middle of a post and the forum goes down, don't scream and run around in circles. Calm down, recount your loss, and give it a minute or two. Thanks for the patience.
I missed the forum downtime frame of reference - the server was acting too wonky yesterday to get any work done. The forum will be down today (OCT 17) for sure. Sorry for the inconvenience.
If you don't mind me asking, how do you actually sort who is a spambot and who isn't? All I know is that spambots don't post, sometimes have gibberish names or names that pretend to be real by giving a name of a person with a dash inbetween it (as I have seen here), and have interests, occuptions, and website links with things advertising something usually being porn. How else do you sort them just for my info?
Basically it's a gantlet of things that only humans are able to do - namely not only with confirmation of a random set of numbers and letters in an images, but possibly find a plugin that'll just get rid of users that haven't confirmed that confirmation email that we'll probably start sending - the version Andy has up doesn't do the email confirm, I believe, or they just have that set to off. Either way, it's way past due time for an upgrade.
That and give something to the Admins that'll allow a mass deletion... if need be.
What will we do during the downtime...WE HAVE NOTHING ELSE!
