Hi folks, Cooper Hawkes here with some semi-bad news from the Wii front:

According to GamesIndustry.biz:

The Wii News Channel, due to display worldwide headlines and stories from The Associated Press, will not launch until January 27 2007, while the Forecast Channel, the access to weather reports from around the globe, will arrive this side of Christmas on December 20th.

Oh my god, it’s tragic! No I don’t know what to do, I’m going to cancel my pre-order! THOSE BASTARDS!! THOSE LYING FUCKERS!!

Ok seriously? Big freaking deal. This is becoming the console launches of “almost ready” consoles. The Xbox 360 made it chic last year. (Yes, Xbox Fanboys, the PS3 is getting an update out of the box, but so did the Xbox 360.. remember??)

Anyhoot, I post this more as an FYI then a “sign of the apocalypse”.  And it'll be fixed by the time my birthday rolls around on January 27th.  (Hint Hint!!)

Semper Fi!

UPDATE: Because CHIC is chic, not sheik, as RipEmUP510 was kind enough to point out. FUCKING MS SPELL CHECK!!

One thing to note, this is not a hardware issue like the PS3 and 360. This is a network issue. The Wii is ready, the network is not.

You also failed to mention the Opera Browser won't be ready for the Wii launch.

Ah, the browser bit is in your title, just not in the story.

Umm, the word you are looking for is 'chic'.

But anyway.

For me, this is a 'nice to have' feature, not a 'got to have'. Yeah, it would be NICE to be able to pop into the weather / news / etc. in the system, but the remote is generally about 3 feet away. I can flip over to the weather channel / news / whatever just as quickly.

Hey guys ;)Man, it's been like 18 months since I closed the doors on GamerAndy.com....  Sure, there have been a few posts about where we happened to be at the time, but yeah....   And the show (GamerAndy Live!) did keep...
