So, It looked like EA was out of the woods for a while. If you're a reader of GA then you of course know about the whole "Hey you Gamer! come here! See, I like you so much, i"m gonna sell you Need for Speed Carbon for the price of two games! Great deal, eh?" debacle. EA of course, sat through it all with the smug "I know you hate me, now go buy the game little zombie" look that gets them through incidents like this every day.
Microsoft on the other hand, chose to respond with their standard "If you don't like overpriced content, then don't buy it" stance.
Xbox.com's Trixie wrote in an article posted and then quickly pulled today the following words that make my heart both soar and cackle at the same time.
If that was true that Trixie posted that, then I think that those choice of words were the wrong thing to do. Considering it was Xbox.com, she should have been a little more professional than that.
Anyways, I think that both EA and MS should take blame. MS should take blame because they actually let EA manage XBL Marketplace content from their own servers which allows EA to do basically what the hell they want to. Knowing EA that would be more ways to screw you out of your money and this takes the cake.
However, don't think it is just you Xbox/Xbox360 gamers. Us PC gamers have been screwed quite a bit too. When any of their games gets a little too old, they drop support for it. From what I understand, this includes not only dropping multiplayer support through their servers as well as their patch downloads and tech support are only for newer titles. Believe me when I say that I was pissed when I found out that any tech support and/or patches for American McGee's Alice wasn't on their site any longer. Took me frickin' weeks to find a solution in the form of a fixed executable. God that sucks! Screw EA and the horse they rode in on!
Wait a sec, so Major Nelson raped his mother when he was a kid??? I'm so confused!!!
Poor Trixie, one attempt at honesty through humor and she is now probably screwed.
Nevermind. I get it now...
Great catch!!!
As I'm sure Trixie has the same opinion as many other employees at both MS, and EA:(Corporate Gaming Satanic Cult). I hope that she doesn't feel the heat from her boss, because big wigs at EA crawled all over their back sides looking for heads. It would be best for them to just let this go. Day by day the more I hear about how EA wants to run their business through domination, and greed, the less I want to purchase anything from them.
Lord of Rings Battle for Middle Earth may have just been my last purchase from that company. I have enjoyed games like Burnout, Oddworld Strangers Wrath, Fight Night, and Medal of Honor to some extent. There may have been a few others, but they obviously didn't make that much of an empression, because I can't remember them.
Its sadd that the corporate side of the business can ruin a company, and developers. I hope that that publishers like Ubisoft look at EA as a model of how not to run their company.
hahaaaaaa its about time someone told it how it is
I vote to see if Andy and the Crew can get Trixie to sit down on one of the next upcoming shows soon.
And discuss this problem and get it over with.
Hell get Major in it too if you can.
Damn straight, I'm with Zak on this one. If Trixie gets the boot, (I hope not), then bring her on the show for a spill all interview!!
There's a thin line between writing something in a moment of passion, and your job. TriXie boxed herself and rectified the situation before it got out to too many people. I don’t think she’ll get the boot, but keeping the topic alive via this news post probably isn’t the way to save her job.
In short, let this die folks.
