Hey guys ;)
Man, it's been like 18 months since I closed the doors on GamerAndy.com.... Sure, there have been a few posts about where we happened to be at the time, but yeah.... And the show (GamerAndy Live!) did keep going as an audio romp, until I got so burnt out just before Christmas that I called it quits
Was spending too much time looking for a place for the show to live, too much time trying to keep the community alive, and way too much time fighting our ever present Technical Difficulties to put any time into actually doing the show.
And frankly, thats the only part I like!
So here we are four months later, and again I am resurrecting this old project - except this time, there are some changes.
First off - GamerAndy Live! has gone through a metamorphis and roused from its hibernation as a Video Podcast!
There are plenty of changes coming, but for now GamerAndy Live! is going to be a Live broadcast video podcast every Thursday night from 5:30PM PST-6:30PM PST, the show will then be released (Friday Morning) as a streamable flash video (like the one you'll see below) as well as over an RSS feed in a host of formats so you can watch it on your computer, your ipod, zune, etc.
We are partnering with GearLive on this new project to keep the backend workload down for myself and our other hosts - If you followed us on the great GamerAndy Exodus of '07 you'll be familiar with both Jones and Elaine, my partners in crime - and everyone should remember the fun-loving Sherveen Mashayekhi, who has taken on the roll of our producer and video-getter in this endeavor.
There are lots of fun changes exciting twists coming down the pipes, but I wanted to take the moment to toss up the pilot episode of GamerAndy Live! in its new format for your perusal

So a lot of you know about the hosting problems we've had on and off for the past 5 months or so - Recently this has manifested in Podcasts not downloading properly. After spending a rather unbelievable amount of time with our current host (Bluehost) trying to work it out, I've finally (after receiving my 15th email in the past two days saying the podcast only downloads 5 minutes) picked up a subscription over at LibSyn and will be hosting all our podcast files there.
The site is still being wonky, I know. Looking at the next month, it looks like I'll be able to afford to put us on dedicated hosting by the end of March - No more shared hosting = Happy GA.com and severely reduced lag/downtime.
I'm open to any suggestions?
Anyhow, heres the download info for the podcast again, fixed to reflect our new hosting arrangement.
As usual, comments are still turned off (this will also be fixed with the new hosting), so jump over to the forums (which will be new BEFORE the move) to make your voice heard

Hey Folks, Cooper Hawkes here with Episode 36 of Gamer Andy Live!
This one happens at the Xbox Community Party, and Major Nelson joins for about a half hour or so. I haven't heard it yet myself so you'll be just as surprised as I.
Also, and be warned, this podcast is even more chaotic than you Andyfans are used to. The crew spent about an hour setting up, found that most of the equipment they'd lugged into the party wasn't working, they had no headsets so they couldn't hear each other over the din of the party, and they only had one mic working.
To make matters worse, somehow all the editing work Andy did the next afternoon didn't work, so there's a lot off off-air talk before the podcast starts. So enjoy!!
No word yet if they are going to do a Live wrap up tomorrow. Keep watching this space and I'm sure Andy'll let ya know.Enjoy!

Hi folks, Cooper Hawkes here with a bit of news regarding the live Podcast of Episode 31.
It seems that the bit rate settings were too low during the recording session, thereby making the playback in codec’s other than WAV sound like we're either talking in slow motion, or squealing in that "DWEEE" way Andy described in his review of "Far Cry" for the Xbox.
In short, the Podcast recording is slightly hosed.
Andy's doing everything short of selling a kidney to the black market to try and get it to work. He actually floated the idea of just posting the 1GB .WAV file.
Not practical because:
A) I don't think many people want to download a 1GB podcast
and
B) Bye Bye Bandwidth! We really loved you! Now Andy must sell his kidney to pay for you!
(Kidney thing on my brain today, weird.)
Anyway, it's delayed; Andy's going to take another crack at it tonight.
We'll keep you posted.

Hey all, just wanted to remind everybody that Episode 30 of GamerAndy Live! is being recorded and streamed live over at allgames.com at 7pm PST tonight
To listen in, just go to the main page and the feed will start automatically... But don't stop there, you can get in on the fun by joining us in the chat room or calling in. Tony will be screening calls over Skype, details for how to get on will be given out during the show.
I'll be on All Games Interactive at 5:30pm PST plugging the new episode, and then we'll be live and taking your calls with what is arguably the most ghetto rig (details during the show) ever... The podcast will be going out in its recorded form sometime on friday, depending on my schedule - So tune in to the live broadcast! If we can make this a success, this will be the standard for every show...

GamerAndy Live! Episode 30 will be broadcast LIVE over at Allgames.com!!!!
In a word, "WOOT!" As some of you probably remember, we've kinda crashed and burned before when attempting to do live show, but I've been busting my hump trying to get all the kinks worked out of the system, and it looks like we're actually ready to take a shot at doing the show live again, with taking callers, etc. If this goes well, we'll be broadcasting EVERY episode live, with callers etc. To all you out there who listen to the show but can't make it to the live broadcast, we will be releasing the results via our standard podcast stream (itunes, etc.)
But if you can join us, we'll be live over at Allgames.com on thursday the 13th at 7pm PST 10pm EST, show will run standard legnth (1 - 2 hours) and it'll be like we usually do... except live... They have a chat room over there, that both myself and Hawkes will be in during the show... This should be a lot of fun!!!
Okay, quick disclaimer... We've had a bad experiance with live shows before, and this COULD still crash and burn. If it does, my appologies.
The other thing is there within the next week or so, there will be a FULL REDESIGN courtesy of our resident web-god, Brett.
